We are very happy and proud to announce Tim Warfield's participation in NPR's Jazz Night America tribute to the legendary organist Shirley Scott. Known as a major contributor to the soul jazz movement, Scott was infamously known as the Queen of the Hammond B-3 organ. Shirley was a good friend and mentor to Tim, who was her longstanding saxophonist in her final group that included trumpeter Terell Stafford, bassist Arthur Harper and drummer Mickey Roker. Shirley passed away in March of 2002, but her rich musical contributions to the jazz art form will live on forever.
